DCSS Guidelines for Activity History Comments

Coming across unapproved acronyms can feel like trying to fit puzzle pieces together. However, using acronyms or abbreviations throughout cases can lead to confusion within the agency. One individual may interpret an unapproved acronym differently, while others may not understand it at all. Therefore, it is extremely important to avoid using any unapproved acronyms in AZCARES. The DCSS Guidelines for Activity History Comments provide useful guidance on what to avoid when documenting cases and what is approved. These guidelines also allow team members to review all approved acronyms. It is important to have clear, concise documentation and only use approved acronyms. Any electronic case record may be subpoenaed for court and presented as evidence. Team members may be called upon to explain unclear documentation during hearings. Remember, all documentation must be clearly written and easily understood by all team members and court personnel.
